Traffic Security and Call Integrity

Horizon Communications Group provides traffic security and robocall mitigation for carriers, CLECs, CPaaS and UCaaS platforms, and resellers. Founder-led since 1998, we support STIR/SHAKEN-aligned call authentication and traffic monitoring so the calls on your network keep their integrity.

What is robocall mitigation?

Robocall mitigation is the set of practices a provider uses to reduce illegal robocall traffic on its network: knowing the sources of its traffic, monitoring for suspicious patterns, and acting on illegal calls. Together these protect call integrity.

It works alongside STIR/SHAKEN, a framework for authenticating caller identity on IP calls, where originating providers sign calls and terminating providers verify them. Horizon traffic security is STIR/SHAKEN-aligned and supports call authentication; it does not issue certificates or act as a certification authority.

Why providers route traffic security through Horizon

Founder-led since 1998

You work with a desk that has watched provider traffic for 28 years, not a dashboard alone.

STIR/SHAKEN-aligned

Traffic security supports call authentication so caller identity can be signed and verified, aligned with STIR/SHAKEN practices.

Traffic monitoring

Call patterns are watched for the signs of fraud and abuse, so suspicious traffic is flagged or blocked rather than billed.

Paired with fraud management

Call integrity sits next to fraud controls, so authentication and monitoring work on the same traffic.

How traffic security works

  1. 01

    Consult

We review your traffic profile, the integrity risks most relevant to your routes, and where call authentication fits.

  2. 02

    Enable and integrate

We enable STIR/SHAKEN-aligned authentication and set traffic monitoring rules and thresholds against your routing.

  3. 03

    Monitor and optimize

We watch for anomalies, tune the rules as your traffic changes, and act on patterns that signal abuse.

Who traffic security is for

Carriers
Apply call authentication and traffic monitoring across the traffic you route.
CLECs
Protect subscriber traffic with monitoring aligned to call authentication practices.
CPaaS and UCaaS providers
Add call integrity and traffic security to the calls your platform originates.
Enterprises
Watch high-volume voice traffic for fraud and integrity issues alongside routing.
Resellers
Offer call integrity under your own brand with monitoring handled by a wholesale desk.

Traffic security FAQ

What is robocall mitigation?

Robocall mitigation is the set of practices and controls a provider uses to reduce illegal robocall traffic on its network: knowing the sources of its traffic, monitoring for suspicious patterns, and acting on illegal calls. It works alongside call authentication such as STIR/SHAKEN to support call integrity end to end.

What is STIR/SHAKEN?

STIR/SHAKEN is a framework for authenticating caller identity on IP voice calls. Originating providers sign calls and terminating providers verify the signature, which helps reduce illegal spoofing. Horizon traffic security is STIR/SHAKEN-aligned and supports call authentication; we do not issue certificates or act as a certification authority.

How does traffic monitoring help with fraud?

Traffic monitoring watches call patterns for the signs of fraud and abuse: unusual destinations, sudden spikes, and high call velocity. When traffic looks suspicious, it can be flagged or blocked in near real time. Monitoring pairs with fraud management software so integrity and cost control work together.

What is the Robocall Mitigation Database?

The Robocall Mitigation Database (RMD) is an FCC database where voice service providers describe the robocall mitigation steps they take and register their plans. It exists so the practices behind a provider network are documented. Horizon helps you align your traffic security practices with robocall mitigation expectations.

Traffic security pairs closely withsoftswitch and fraud management software, where the same traffic is switched and watched for fraud.
